@bgptr mentioning to you as well that this is being addressed now.
Tasklog:
Wallet cards need redesigning. Worth to iterate a bit on these, whether we would go with something basic off Pi component cards, or try around different comps for these. General goal is to make the wallets in launcher more distinctive and informative. Since the last major updates, there's a fair bit of functionality that can be tied to each Wallet (Privacy, LN, Trezor, etc). These bits of information can be displayed either via tags or better icons with tooltips on hover. Making each one visually distinctive (incase the user has not properly named them) comes down to a pretty old feature idea of adding some sort of generative avatar element to them. It can be as part of the wallet icon, as part of the background or somewhere as a sort of marker/avatar. Came across this new library recently: https://boringavatars.com/ where we could use the Decred color palette to create a base algorithm that outputs images matching to Decred identity look and feel. That can be played around with.
The tutorial components should be added into the launcher area, as there’s now a fair bit of onboarding content starting to come available, thus makes sense to have it available for users with longer loading times.
These components should also have categories to them, ie. check onboarding assets figma for cats.
The loader element should be fixed into bottom of the view and go through a few refinements:
Progress bar is made significantly smaller, the horizontally moving box animation can be removed as it becomes obsolete at this small size.
SPV on/off icon should be placed next to the loader status icon (the animated ones). On hover display tooltip msg.
Wallet name, what is being launched, should be added.
Option to cancel loading and return to wallet selection.
These improvements are following up to the new Trezor views (decrediton/#3297) and onboarding content.
