Ask blockchaintransparency.org to analyze DCR trading volume #34

It appears that blockchaintransparency.org has collected some intelligence on the trading activity

During this time [past 3 months], we have spent countless hours watching order books, analyzing volume data points, and speaking with market makers, high frequency traders, and trade surveillance consultants. We have collected an enormous amount of data and we now feel confident to begin releasing these figures.

Included in this report we have calculated the true volume of the CMC top 25 BTC trading pairs. Most of these pairs actual volume is under 1% of their reported volume on CMC. We noted only 2 out of the top 25 pairs not to be grossly wash trading their volume, Binance and Bitfinex.

Reach out to them, perhaps they wouldn't mind to run Decred data through their tools?

The findings may be useful for Decred DEX proposal.

This idea is part of a larger category of ideas I think is important. Getting the myriad of emerging analysis frameworks (cryptoasset valuation, trading, governance) to include Decred. Since Decred's fundamentals are strong, this should increase awareness and valuation of Decred. This could just require pinging the authors of said frameworks/websites. This might necessitate us providing assistance (e.g. coding up an integration ourselves, or providing information/guidance on how Decred's unique structure fits into their models).

That sounds good and is kind of PR I love to see. It will require a no small effort.

Adding to crypto51 is just another instance. Until bigger ideas are not formed I'm trying to create smaller and more concrete issues. Feel free to create a bigger meta issue that links to smaller ones.

Have had the idea of floating a "RFP"-style proposal idea on slack. But too busy building cool stuff from existing projects right now :) Do think I have the skills to take on these types of projects down the line though, and have my eye on them.
