With many coming from the bitcoin core development
Many of Decred's current developers worked on Bitcoin but not Bitcoin Core. This statement is misleading at best, and can lead to "scam" accusations at worst e.g. "these scammers claim they come from Core!!!11". I think I've seen it somewhere. Of course any such complaints should be redirected to the publication but Decred can still take some damage.
Smaller issue:
In exchange for doing so, they are granted voting rights, and vote along with miners.
"vote along with miners" is slightly inaccurate I or misleading, it's a different kind of voting.
