Gated Content Message Displays Below Content (Not Actually Gating) #1

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I didn't see any other dedicated avenue for support. I'm experimenting with this plugin and it doesn't seem to be working as expected. My page is rendering the #mint-gated block beneath all the content on my blog post instead of blocking the content from loading/rendering. Accessing the gated content link directly from my NFT in MintGate (https://mgate.io/go/52ssU-5g-e0Q) gives me an error message on the widget "Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0".

I'm using the Rinkeby test network. Any help would be appreciated.

Dug into this a little more today from a content perspective (haven't looked at the plugin code) and I can get this to work with vanilla WP content. Unfortunately, it isn't working on any of my pages or posts since I'm using WPBakery Page Builder (Visual Composer). As soon as I move my text into a vc_row container it eludes the gating mechanism of the plugin. Any chance this can be supported?
