Thanks to @tjlang and @vbalderdash for their contributions to this; I'm but a mere editor. My eventual aim is to slim down the plotting class to work with the xarray data structure on the cf-lma-format branch, and to provide some helper routines for converting the pandas-reader and lmatools-reader formats to the xarray structure.
