I fully agree with you yet I must close the issue without taking action.
An important principle in sigplus has been to keep external dependencies at a
minimum. Early versions of sigplus depended on several third-party lightbox and
slider implementations, and tracking changes in external products and how they
affect sigplus has proven to be beyond my capabilities given how little free
time I have. Later versions of sigplus came with the lightbox boxplus (by the
same author) and a slider implementation fully integrated into sigplus,
reducing the number of dependencies. The benefit in terms of reduced support
cost and time has been priceless.
A similar effect as described above would occur if sigplus were integrated into
Kunena. I would have to track changes in Kunena and provide continuous
integration. The only true solution from a personal perspective would be to
develop a sigplus interface that allows easy integration of sigplus into
various external (and unrelated) products. Other developers would then use the
sigplus interface and create various bridges between sigplus and other products
while incurring no time/cost on my personal resources.

As far as I understand, the Kunena 2.0 infrastructure allows regular plug-ins
to be included in Kunena provided these special Kunena-specific methods are
implemented in the extension. This is a feasible integration approach that I
may as well follow in sigplus. However, the linked documentation "Kunena 2.0
plugins events" by itself is clearly insufficient, e.g. what is a KunenaAccess
or KunenaProfile object, how to use the BBCode, etc. remain open questions.
These must be adequately answered, perhaps illustrated with an example, before
any development could take place.
