Thanks, Randy. We've got this on our WIBNIF list, but working on some higher priority quick-hits first.
Any feelings about using Navteq / Nokia / Here maps? I know they're not OSS, but they are built in Chicago and offer street views (plus, I have a few friends working for them).

I have not looked at Here in almost 10 years now. I try my best not to lock my own project into companies large or small that look to open source and oen data as a way to get only and then lock up the product. Even the Bible has that problem with copyrights. I am not looking for an income stream but believe there are many that can be opened up with the proper open source tools leading folks to doors and value added products replacing companies traditional marketing products for sales and recruitment.

More of a wibnif than an issue but I will try and cut and paste this as an issue as well. WIBNIF is wouldn't it be nice if, for you youngsters. I like the number of options. Either being able to draw a shape or stick to one census tract or neighborhood would be nice. OSM has the nice things Steve has mentioned and I hope will find a way to seemlessly move to a Streetview or Mapillary type view. That and having an easy way to start out with a small area download for OSM would be nice.
