BBCode code blocks have huge blank spaces between lines.
The reason behind this is that
The CSS is missing a line-height: 1em
The BBCode parser adds <br /> tags next to newlines, adding an extra row of nothing (due to the CSS wrap setting, both \n and <br> are considered a newline)
