How do I handle cases where a bundle upgrade has failed?

Describe the solution you'd like

Given a bundle has been deployed successfully once, and now I'm upgrading
When the upgrade fails........
Then I can cleanup the mess and roll back to the previously successful deploy

What is the rollback behavior?

Only rollback a single package or the entire bundle?
What does recovery look like today?
Categorical errors?
What should happen when an error occurs?
