Damage increasing gun #210

A gun that increase its damage by 1 every time you get a kill with it, and the fire rate goes down. The damage starts at 7, with the firerate of a smg. The mag size is to be discussed, and the max damage reachable should also be discussed.

Ha, okay. Usually i'm against scaling guns, because it's a balancing mess. But, if it's a tradeoff between firerate and damage, i guess it could work.

I suspect the simplest answer to "mag size is to be discussed" is "there is no magazine, this is a belt-fed gun".

Another interesting variation on this idea is as follows: gun "Adaptation". Each kill you complete with this gun changes how the gun works. If you kill someone at long range, this gun loses firerate but gains damage, becoming more of a sniper. If you kill someone at short range, you gain firerate but lose damage, making the gun more of an SMG.

I like the idea, but I believe there should be a max amount to which the gun can charge up to, otherwise it will be an extremely overpowered weapon.

I also believe the damage should increase by 3 each time. And I think max damage should be restricted to 15.

I think the magazine size should be 20, because seeing the scaling damage of the gun, as a player uses it more often, the bullet capacity will make a major difference in their gameplay, and it would be best to keep it at 20, to keep it from being overpowered.

I think a good idea would be, that the gun would increase in damage more slowly, as it got more kills, making it slightly more difficult to use the gun, to prevent its scaling damage to be too convenient for players.

Example: 1 Kill = + 3 dmg (-2 firerate maybe) 2 Kill = + 3 dmg (-2 firerate) 3 Kill = + 2 dmg (-2 firerate) 4 Kill = + 2 dmg (-2 firerate) 5 kill = + 1 dmg (-2 firerate)

The damage and firerate should look something like this: With the firerate being consistent, and the damage value being added more slowly. It doesn't need to start at + 3 dmg or -2 firerate, but the above data set is merely for reference.

Reading through this suggestion once more, i really am quite convinced that a way to lose the buff is needed. Perhaps the gun slowly loses charge if you don't kill anyone. Or on some other condition.
