We enable Rwandan Alcoholic Beverage Manufacturers to participate in the future of African Malanga Neutral Alcohol Supply Chains.

What problem have you identified?
Rwandan Alcoholic Beverage Manufacturers are dependent on costly Neutral Alcohol imports. In this meeting, we need to address the challenges that DEG is facing with industrial land acquisition so we can better understand the regulatory requirements to successfully implement the project.

Solution

What solution does your P3 Ecosystem provide?
Introduce a proprietary and cost-competitive agro-technology that transforms African Malanga into locally produced Neutral Alcohol. Our proposed solution involves presenting the project plan to various regulatory bodies to understand how their agency relates to DEG and what requirements we need to plan for.

Situation

• Felix express frustrations and concerns with Industrial Land Acquisition with John (RDB)

• DEG present project plan to highlight three main pillars: supply chain, manufacturing, and market

• FDA & RSB Feedback and clarifications
  • FDA is responsible for all licensing requirements
  • FDA and RSB work together

Discuss DEG's Supply Chain

Situation

• DEG is proposing an innovating supply chain strategy that needs a lot of buy in from specific agencies (MINAGRI and RAB)
• DEG wants district Mayors to become advocates for the project

Complication

• District Mayors don't understand the socio-economic impact
• RISK: If District Mayors don't understand the socio-economic impact of the supply chain, they won't advocate for capacity building. This will limit DEG's ability for a stable supply chain

Resolution

• ACTION: Add district Mayors listing Malanga as a strategic crop for farmers as a project milestone
• RDB explained contract farming as an existing and proven framework
  • Model used in high end hotels
  • Hotels sign contract with farmers, supply farmers with seeds, etc. to support their startup
