Did you try the spec-release version with the debug layer enabled to see if any error condition is recognized by dgVoodoo? Or, did you try both D3D11 and 12 to see if anything underlying OS/driver change is tied to a particular API?
I haven't tried D3D12 on SMT:I because it would trigger a crash at random times so i fell back to D3D11 and i didn't crash at the beginning. As for the API not sure but the ihe info is the Windows 10 20H2 and updating to the latest update "KB4598242" https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/january-12-2021-kb4598242-os-builds-19041-746-and-19042-746-ab18a1a1-d572-598f-4d86-7137aad34056 I dont see any changes that MS did that could cause this but this issue is not just me it happens on all my computers running this update. As for the " debug layer enabled" i didn't get any info from it. with some of my friends the game client just crashes for me it crashes as soon as i log into my character. The game SMT:I or Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine is running on the engine Gamebryo. at 1st i thought it was reshade so i completely removed it and just installed dgVoodoo without any modification and i still gotten the crash. ReShade alone still works and wraps into D3D9 just fine.
After the last windows 10 update the Wrapper had completely broken on a few of my DirectX 9 games Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine and Payday 2 just simply crashes. Its not a setting since i reset to stock settings and still have a crash. So far Bayonetta still works and Garrys Mod still works. Though had to use the wrapper on Bayonetta since no textures was loading at all TY SEGA.
