Options.Market Gitcoin Hackathon Prizes #1

Options.Market aims to be a decentralized options protocol without:

  1. VCs owning and controlling it, and
  2. Founders bagging tens of millions of dollars.

We want DeFi’s best options protocol to be truly open and community driven with the majority of value inherent in its governance token going to its developers and its community.

Options. Market is able and willing to pay developers top-end rates. It has several years of runway and is offering $25,000 in the Degen VC Gitcoin Hackaton to kick start its next phase. You can read more about the background of our vision here.

Options.Market is a fork of sirenmarkets.com. Right now we are developing a new UI and will soon launch a fork on Binance Chain. This ensures we are not-competing with Siren for liquidity, avoids high gas costs for users and related problems (such as Siren is facing here), and it generally allows us lower-impact market-testing and development in advance of deploying our version 2. We will then build version 2, which will be deployed on Ethereum, but also might remain in its native territory of BSC too! You can see the published roadmap of the Siren project here which is a fair blueprint demonstrating part of what are crowdsourcing as part of this hackathon.

Prizes

1. Support our UI engineer hooking up the existing forked protocol to our new UI.

$2,000 USDC paid in $500 “chunks”. One developer might be awarded all the chunks! Or they might be given to different developers.

$20,000 OSM prize (based on $OSM price of $0.1)

Through the process of awarding the above prizes we want to see a diverse team take shape that will implement the existing protocol on BSC in time for demo day. We will seed this team with $20,000 in OSM tokens. This will be paid when the market on BSC goes live.
