Imperfect audio when playing Shoutcast through Squid HTTP proxy

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use qmmp to play a Shoutcast stream through Squid 3.0 HTTP proxy

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect good audio quality. Instead audio sounds like it's skipping. 

CPU usage is not the issue. 

It occurs however the proxy server is configured and with every stream [>7]
I've tried. Stop using the proxy and audio is perfect. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.3.2 on Debian

Please provide any additional information below.

Proxy server is running on the default gateway, so I am certain this is not
a routing issue. Streams are accessed by IP not name so I am certain this
is not a DNS issue.

This has to do with proxies tampering shoutcast's ICY PDU into HTTP'ed form
