I go on too much when i write to ask for things or say stuff online. People
tend to hate that so i will get to the point.
Love qmmp its the closest to winamp as you can get without having winamp.
Allowing skins from winamp 2 was great cause i made my qmmp look like winamp.
Anyway it works very similar except for the playlist generation takes way to
long on ubuntu on almost every player i have seen. I should make my own player
up based on ffmpeg or something like that lol. But when you have 30000 songs or
so the playlist on qmmp takes forever to add but winamp and i am running a
virtualbox and winamp to check the speed differences in the playlist adding
takes exactly 5 seconds(its a bit slow being emulated)
but it takes 5 seconds to come up with all the names and the amount of songs in
the list but continues to add the amount of time all the songs take up after
the fact. its like qmmp and others add every songs bit of information all at
once which makes the playlist slow down in coming up.
So i guess i am requesting someone re-program the playlist to list the files
first then the id3 information then finally do the addition of the length of
time after everything comes up first and do it in the background to make things
quicker for people wanting to play a song in the u letters as quickly as
possible.
Thanks for thinking about it.
