Auth fails when password is more than 19 chars #248

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Setup an openvpn server with a password longer than 19 chars
2. Enter the correct password on the client
3. See the auth fail

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is auth success. Obviously, when the password is 19 chars or
lower, auth works on the same server.

What mobile phone are you using?
Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9305)

Which Android Version and stock ROM or aftermarket like cyanogenmod?
Android 4.1.2
Please provide any additional information below.

Not sure it's the same issue with this or not -

No auth file in my case, passwords were typed in every time. Both issues might
be related though.

I tested with numeric only passwords, to reject other failure sources. When the
password is 01234567890123456879 or longer, auth fails. When the password is
0123456789012345678 or shorter, auth succeeds. Longer passwords work with other
vpn clients, so the issue is not server side.

I tried to reproduce this bug. My password had 60 chars and worked just fine.
Can you check what exactly arrives at the server side?
