its Data field had to be a string in https://github.com/deis/workflow-manager-api/pull/123 because of the panic described in https://github.com/deis/workflow-manager-api/pull/123#issuecomment-217544539. Since clustersCheckinsTable uses a types.JSONText, it should be possible to use one in this field as well
