The current design specs a CUI encoder with a 5mm threaded section and a 15mm overall height.
Recommend switching to the Bourns PEC11L-4120F-S0020, which offers a 7mm threaded section and a 20mm overall height. The goal is to increase the number of threads that poke above the top of the enclosure, and improve fit of the encoder knob.
As part of this change, the footprint should also be reviewed to ensure there's sufficient copper around the mechanical pin pads. They were a little thin on the last prototype.
