Ordered a DASH in europe and got the pictured one.. They seem to use a completly different MCU Atmel SAM G55J aswell as a different Wifi Chip, Atmel as well, a WINC 1500B.. Configuration is done by creating a WLAN AP with the DASH Button, which is connected by the Android app. I am not sure if the Metal Package labeled S1693 4963 is a MEMS Microphone or not, the location would fit, but i don´t find anything via Google.

Amazon now ships rev2 Dash buttons here in the US. Looks like this one's a whole new set of hw. Thanks for the dissection pics, Spacefish.

I already wondered why they would ship two completely different hw platform's.. If I look at it, v1 should be cheaper to produce than v2. Maybe they got some special deals with Microchip/Atmel..
