Twine for iOS cannot detect the feed from the main posts page #14

Hi, i was able to download and deploy Autost fairly easily despite not knowing anything about web tech - my cohost mirror is live on lottemakesstuff.pink. One issue I did notice was my RSS read (Twine for iOS) wasn't able to automatically detect the feed - some other cohost users reported the same issue.

after messing with it for a bit I discovered if I removed the first line (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>) from the generated feed it would work as expected. Without that line the RSS reader was able to detect the feed just from my root url

THANK YOU FOR MAKING AUTOST

okay this just seems to be an issue with some specific feed readers - some are picking it up some aren't I'm going to close this as this 'fix' no longer seems to work - SORRY

thank you for using autost!

no need to be sorry, it could be a bug in those feed readers, but it could also be a bug in autost. is twine able to detect the feeds of any other blogs?

Hi - Twine was able to detect the rss feed at other blogs - for example Nat's feed at nex-3.com is instantly picked up.

I just went to try again with my site to verify things and right now the twine app is able to detect the feed on lottemakesstuff.pink again - but not on shuppy.org/posts -so I'm really at a loss, maybe it is the xml version line that removed who knows! I do not have an android phone to check if its the same on that version of Twine, this is all very confusing!

the android version worked ok:

but i can indeed reproduce this on the ios version in some cases:

that last one is a much smaller page, and the <link> tag is different, hmm…
