1 year ago He, Jerry here, I have read through the project and I have some concerns. From what I read this is a well documented, well prepped, giant project. and although I think it is good to have a few of these projects, I would have no idea where I would take the time from to develop all of the things listed. I am under the impression that this is a lot of work (useful work nevertheless) that is required to develop an open source tractor, but that also steers us away from our main role, sharing and teaching information about open source hardware principles. In my honest opinion it would be best to first start with something small, maybe super small, and grow from there. As a suggestion maybe we could first make an open source hardware add-on for the tractor. this is small, understandable and useful, after that we could do the existing tractor and after that a tracktor with all of the stakeholders included.
Hi Jerry you are right, I dont think you should do all that. This is just a list of things that need to happen in order to achieve the goals of making the project open.
Furthermore we dont know what is the status of documentation of the project until we see it. So I would like to look at the project and see in detail what is the status before judging what work needs to be done and by who.
I would also like to explore if there could be some funding to perhaps get more people in our team to develop further this project, and explore if there could be some exploration with the dreamhall.
Ah now I see, you mentioned this guy was a millionaire right, maybe if he supports this then we can get extra funding for RHE's. If that is the case then maybe we should move a bit more towards his vision
I have been approached by a tractor manufacturer from the US because he is interested in how open source could be used to achieve his goals to help farmers around the world.
