Expected Behavior binary log sync should be enabled irrespective of gtid mode on source

Actual Behavior dSource creation / linking is working for a source db with gtid_mode=ON but the subsequent binary log sync is not working

Steps To Reproduce the Problem Ingest a source db with gtid_mode set to ON

Version 5.7.9
