Create a number of designs for the website. Then collaborators will be able to vote on which design they like the best and think will be best for all users.

Some drafts for layout. Ideas:

• Make our own video player
• Have the player fall-back to default HTML5 player
• Comment in threads or 4chan style

A (basic) draft I made for the layout of the website.

The following shows the homepage design. May use icons or different fonts for the toolbar (eg. Settings button). A different font could also be used for the body text.

The following show the video player page design.

• The commenting system will resemble that of 4chan. Currently unknown if image uploading will be allowed (most likely not).
• The empty space on the side could be used to show similar videos, or have the main banner at the side.

Other designs characteristics will be discussed as they are implemented.

There were only two submissions and both of them were fairly similar. So therefore, we have decided:

• The commenting system will resemble that of Reddit due to its user friendliness.
  • The commenting system will be different so that the user will not have to create an account to comment.
  • The users trip will appear instead of username (or as Anonymous).
  • A system will be implemented so that upvote/downvote will work without the need for an account.
• The design will generally resemble that of YouTube's.
  • Some features of YouTube Center will be implemented.
  • The default HTML5 player will be used, then a custom HTML5 player will be implemented later (including fallback measures).

Other notes:

• No BS Javascript. Absolutely no tracking, etc.
• Opt-in to allow cookie. This could be used to store preferences, subscriptions, and possibly other stuff.
  • Users may later be able to create an account that would store this information on the server. Allowing access to these settings across devices.
• The website may eventually have other themes that the user will choose from.
