4 months ago turns out, we were using both terms "Account" and "Profile" already.
as the "Instant Onboarding" screen is mostly the same as the "Edit Profile", we kept the term there.
the new buttons neither speak of "Account" nor "Profile".
so, for 1.46 at least, things are fine; still leaving the issue open as we may want to go all-in wrt "Profile" ;)
we are currently using the word "Account" to refer to the thing one needs to use send/receive messages with ones email-address
however, "Account" was often considered to be a bit "too big", the name has strong relationships to "Accounting" and "Banking" in many languages (eg. in german we use "E-Mail-Konto" instead of just "Konto" to mitigate that)
this issue is to discuss if we find a friendlier wording that still fits. so far, the following pop up:
Account
Address
Profile
the first one is the status quo, i list it to have sth. to refer to, also, it is not totally clear yet if it will be replaced.
the second one has the disadvantage to be maybe too technical, addresses may change, there are also ideas around of even using multiple addresses for the thing.
the third one is already used partly in the app.
note, that changing this is quite some work, app+pages use the term 150+ times, and this is only english. so, a change here, results in lots of work for many ppl and should be considered carefully - and stay for some time :)
might be that we skip this issue for 1.46, therefore, we move forward with the existing wording (however, eg. https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-desktop/pull/3773 does not add much usage of "account" anyways)
