I get the open failed: EACCES (Permission failed)message after recent Samsung
S4 update when I try to add or modify item. I uninstalled Keepass from
PlayStore and reinstalled it. Same problem.

Me too. After S4 update I cannot modify the database.
It opens and reads fine.

Same error as others. S4, Android 4.4.2, KeePassDroid v1.99.11, DB file on
external microSD card. Opens and reads ok, but when you try and save an edit,
you get EACCESS, permission denied.

I don't think I need to post a me too post. So I'll just ask is this forum
monitored by the wonderful developers of KeePasDroid? I just want to make
certain that someone there knows about the error. I'd be happy to run any debug
code if that would help them out. 8^D

Found a work around... Had to copy my .kdb over to the keepass directory on the
phone (vs the SD card) and checkmark the open as default.
old directory1 (didn't work): storage/extSdCard/keepass/keepass.kdb
old directory2 (didn't work): mnt/extSdCard/keepass/keepass.kdb
new directory (save works): storage/emulated/0/keepass/keepass.kdb
