File type is not supported error after upgrade to KitKat on Droid Razr Maxx HD

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch application
2. Open DB from, files, go to the keepass directory with key and DB file and 
choose DB file. Also tried moving from SD card to internal memory with same 
result.
3. Error message: File type is not supported

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Can't get beyond the open 
file screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.99.11 running on KitKat 4.4.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Worked prior to OS upgrade.

I am having the same issue unable to save, delete, update, edit.  Each time I 
try to save program gives me this error...  "/storage/sdcard1/keepass/... open 
failed: EACCES (permission denied)".  This started after the OS update to 
KitKat 4.4.2.  Please fix quick.  ps: attached is screen capture of error.
