I am giving some thought into the future of this project. This project has grown over the past five or so years and has been very helpful for me, but I am increasingly doubtful about the long-term usefulness of this project. I have started using Clojure more and am very impressed by Clojure. In many ways, the principles of this project (writing simple, modular functions that do one thing and, as much as possible, rely on foundational data-types) are feeling more and more like an attempt to replicate the principles which are foundational to Clojure. I just raise this issue for the community's awareness. I will not be removing any of the repos in the Democritus Project nor will I stop supporting the code, but I may spend less time work on this project moving forward as I am not convinced this project (and Python in general) is what I want to be doing in the long run.
