Cannot get remote repository information. [git] #80

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. git clone http://johnmacfarlane.net/repos/pandoc.git/

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I see:
Cannot get remote repository information.
Perhaps git-update-server-info needs to be run there?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
Hi, I don't know if that git repository was meant to be accessible, but if
it was, you might want to know about this error message that I've been getting.

That's an old one (now deleted).
The official repository is the googlecode svn repository.
If you want to use git with it (I do), use git-svn.

I was wondering if I could check back with this (one year later). Is there
still a
compelling reason to have the official repository be under SVN? Perhaps at this
point in time, a public git repo (say on github) would be more convenient for
all? I
won't argue either way. I was trying to get out of learning git-svn ;-)
