My general advice would be to lean on the job requirements for Built in Colorado job listings. That will tell you what people currently are asking for. Then, pick which of the things are "closest" to what you currently know. (E.g. you know Angular 2, but they use Angular 4...might be time to study Angular 4.)

A paradoxical thing I would also say is that you will always be behind, at least in something. You mostly just have to get used to that, and focus on the 3 or 4 things you want to know really well.

Ask yourself these questions about new skills so you can choose the "right" 3 or 4 things:

1) Do you have fun with it? 2) Do you have a support network for it (friends, Google, tutorials)? 3) Are people asking for it on projects you want to work on?

Did that answer your question?
