Example data in docs #34

@ChrisBeaumont - I think it would be good to add a simple example dataset to the docs that we can use for all the examples (we can then use the Matplotlib sphinx directive to generate plots for the docs rather than having to include static plots). Do you have any interesting and small datasets that can be public? The extinction map of Perseus? Or anything else? Otherwise, I can check on my side.

The data you have must be related to Jonathan's extinction map - I went to download the original one that is 200kB from the dataverse (PerA_Extn2MASS_F_Gal.fits) as that seems like a reasonable size to include in the repository, and as an example file - what do you think? I'll include it as part of #33 and we can always change if we want.

The file I sent you is a reprocessing of 2mass, and isnt technically public. Some complete data (2d and 3d) sound like a good idea On Jun 25, 2013 10:44 AM, "Thomas Robitaille" notifications@github.com wrote:

Ok, sounds good - I'll start off with the COMPLETE data

I'll close this since I included example data in #33.
