What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

I mainly worked on brainstorming project ideas and what potential implementations of them could look like. Once we decided on a project idea, I worked on defining and categorizing requirements for our envisioned final product.

What were any major issues/challenges?

I tend to have a hard time trying to narrow down possibilities when deciding on a project - the sheer amount of choice available can often feel paralyzing.

What are you working on next week?

I'll be working on researching potential APIs that we can use in concert with our map, what solutions other people have come up with to similar problems, and compiling the pros and cons of the viable ones I find so that our team can make an educated collective decision before investing unnecessary time/effort.

Scrum Report 09/06/2019

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

I worked on finalizing our API choice, creating the render for our About page, and starting to implement API calls as actions.

What were any major issues/challenges?

I needed to spent significant time researching Meteor and React-Router since I had no previous exposure to them from the course activities.

What are you working on next week?

I'll be finishing my work for our About page and APIs, trying to convert our basic functionality into React-Redux components/actions/reducers.

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

• I worked on finalizing the About page design and implementing it.

What were any major issues/challenges?

• Researching MaterialUI component APIs
• styling the page (because I'm bad at CSS)

What are you working on next week?

• Investigating and implementing the required API calls with redux

Scrum Report 06-07-2019

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

• I worked on implementing and testing the main API call that we'll use in order to retrieve locations for our users. I was able to get the main function working, but wasn't able to implement it into the project in a usable way in time for the sprint deadline.

What were any major issues/challenges?

• I spent a lot of time trying to figure out both async action dispatches using redux-thunk and trying to test them using mock state libraries, but wasn't able to get to a place that I was happy with by the end of the sprint.

• I also spent time trying to setup environment files to use with Meteor for our API keys, but ran into a lot of challenges understanding how/when Meteor would set up its own environment variables and/or external libraries meant for setting environment variables.

What are you working on next week?

• Investigating whether we should continue using Redux, implementing using the API into our project components.

What did you work on this past iteration (2 weeks)?

• I worked on deploying to Heroku, implementing dispatching the preferences/parameters for the API call to Redux, and debugging issues with the API call.

What were any major issues/challenges?

• I didn't understand Meteor's structure with respect to server/client, so wasn't able to get the API call working from the app in time due to CORS/CORB policies.

What are you working on next week?

• Researching and restructuring the project to have client/server separation so that the API call goes through correctly.
• Working through the issue tickets already created.
