egit does not support symlinks in project paths

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a project whose location contains a symlink into a git workspace
2. egit will not share the project. hacking files by hand doesn't appear to
work. fiddling with the path in the "share" dialog doesn't work.

my project location is of the form /a/b/c, where c is a symlink to /d/e/f/g
where the ".git" directory lives in /d/e/.git

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.31 on Ubuntu 9.04
