Error while scanning repository for changes on eclipse startup.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install jgit plugin for eclipse 0.4 or 0.4.0.2
2. Restart Eclipse
3. Watch and wait as repositories are scanned - the error dialog pops up.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Should not bring up error dialog that mentions "Repository Change Scanner"
which mentions java.lang.NullPointerException

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

jgit 0.4 and 0.4.0.2 march 8 2009.
ubuntu 8.10 64 bit.
eclipse 3.4.2

Please provide any additional information below.

When I uninstall the plugin, the problem goes away.

We have not really started looking at Eclipse 4.0 yet. Any problems there are
out-of-scope so far, unless accompanied by a good patch.

Umm, I'm not using Eclipse 4, but rather 3.4.2 as stated above.
