Fring doesn't work as Siphon. With Siphon you keep your account (username &
pwd) on
your iPhone. With fring this information are stocked on Fring's servers.

Some users use nonoh services without pb.

I just read your log file, Siphon sends correctly register message but it
doesn't
receive any answer.
Did you define Stun setting ? Did you enable NAT and ICE setting ?

My issue is with wifi alone, no 3G /EDGE here.

I am using GV along with siphon connection to Gizmo. Everything worked fine.
Placed a
call worked. Two hours later I tried again, and all I get is "Service
Unavailable".
Eventually the display says "Request Timeout".

I have tried everything that I could think off. Changing settings including
refreshing the wifi details, reentering siphon log-in information, even removed
and
reinstalled a fresh copy of the siphon, no luck. Finally, I changed the wifi
network
to my roomate's, and bang it worked ! Got connected. Confirmed it at another
wifi
location and it works there too. Strange.

Then I connected my computer to the wifi and pinged the gizmo server at
proxy01.sipphone.com. The pings worked fine, so my guess is that it is not that
the
wifi/ISP is blocking access. At least I think so. Could be wrong. To further
check
the issue, I tried the gizmo client on the computer and the wifi network and it
worked like a charm.

Now I am totally, lost. I can connect to gizmo on the same network using
computer,
but not the siphon. The rest of the internet works great, just not the
siphon+gizmo.
The same configuration works on the roomate's wifi though. Although I
experimented
with every known setting, the basic inputs on the siphon are:

username:
password:
Server: proxy01.sipphone.com
Advanced setting:
reg timeout 1800
Enable NAT: off

Network setting:
Local Port 5060
Keep alive: 15

Media transport
RTP Port: 4000
Enable ICE: off

I do not have the stun server set up, since I am not sure should I do it, or
what
does it do.

Any help would be great since I am totally lost here

I am using siphon 2.0.8
iphone 3GS - 3.0

Try setting STUN server as mentioned here
http://code.google.com/p/siphon/wiki/SIPSettings
It helped me to get Connected and stop getting Service Unavailable message. I
can
make calls now from Siphon, but I can't receive calls! It works fine with Fring
and
desktop client, but not Siphon.
Have you found any solution?

All right, I figured my problem. I turned on NAT and Sipon is receiving calls
now!
Yay! So now I have the following settings to use it with Gizmo over 3G:

username: 1747xxxxxxx
password:xxxxxxxxxxxx
server: proxy01.sipphone.com
STUN server: stun01.sipphone.com
NAT: on
Use edge/3g: on

Hmmm, not any more. Today starting from the morning I'm getting Service
Unavailable.
It was working fine yesterday, except that time to time I run into another
defect
logged earlier when I don't hear anything when dialing from siphon.

I just pinged servers. proxy01.sipphone.com is OK, but stun01.sipphone.com
doesn't
reply. I didn't ping it before when everything was working, but maybe this is
the
reason. Will check and post later.

I'm on Siphon 2.1.0, OS 3.0, over 3G

I thought my assumption is correct when the STUN server was back and Siphon
started
working. However, right now both servers are pingable, but I'm getting Service
Unavailable again. Weird!

I released a development version for iOS 4 and later. You have to add a new
source to Cydia: http://svsip.free.fr/repository/cydia

This issue seems coming from server.
