Add a transition effect which hints that you're able to swipe. http://blivesta.com/clickstream/

Remove "calendar" icon?

Had a discussion with a user yesterday who criticized that one needs 2 clicks to switch the date on mobile phones. This would be especially problematic if you wanna browse the whole week, switching forth and back of the days.

I didn't realize back then that we have the swiping :) How about just overlaying a semi-transparent big right/left arrow when switching the date? Maybe only on touch devices?
