Ring does work but often invalid content type #116

Open Jansrt opened 1 year ago

Jansrt commented 1 year ago

Ring does work but often invalid_content_type error while making snapshot. The issue continues after Homey's update to 8.1.0. Can this be fixed?

Jansrt commented 1 year ago

Well, the problem of having to reauthenticate is not gone. Can this be fixed?

mruiter commented 1 year ago

The strange thing is that i only had to reauthenticate once (that was in the testing fase and was a bug that was fixed) Since then all works perfect. Sometimes it makes a timeline notice , when the internet was gone for a few minutes but then when its back and i check in settings it still is authenticated

I'm running the app on 4 homeys , no need for re-authentications and i have ring doorbells and chimes on all 4 Could it be a unstable wifi , slow internet that is causing this issues for Jansrt ?

I have the same situation. The timeline message shows up, but I am still authenticated.

I have gigabit ethernet lan and wan connections. WiFi is over 300 Mb where Homy is located. I have no issues with other IT in the house. So, I guess that is not the problem.

Could it be related to the invalid content issue?

If you only get the timeline messages and setting still said authenticated and you have no troubles I guess it’s an issue of slow connection to the ring cloud / slow response from.I noticed the ring app also is slower in showing everything than it was used to .Guess there also saving money on power usage by lowering there cloud platform power 🤣Verstuurd vanaf mijn iPhoneOp 24 nov. 2022 om 09:27 heeft Jansrt @.***> het volgende geschreven: I have the same situation. Thanks.

The Homey backup app is slow in responding too since a couple of months.

I have changed the power supply of my Homey to see whether that makes a difference. That was an issue a couple of years ago.

Do have a solution to the other issue that I mentioned, the invalid content issue? Do you need more info on this?
