"There was an error in your form, please try again" -- when not logged in. #4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Don't log in to your Google account.
2. Fill out the mentoring org application form.
3. Press submit.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I was hoping to see some indication of success. Instead, I got a red
message stating, "There was an error in your form, please try again". The
problem turned out to be that I was not logged in to my Google account.
After logging in and re-entering the form, it worked. It might be useful to
notice the lack of login before allowing the user to fill in data.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Firefox 3/Linux.

Please provide any additional information below.

We likely won't get around to making this change during GSoC 2007 organization
applications, but noted.

This is a very annoying bug! You could lose all your entries after filling in
the
form. The error message gives absolutely no indication of the reason for the
failure.
It's actually misleading because there isn't a problem with the form at all. I
only
guessed that this was the issue because I saw the notice that I would be
considered
the administrator of the project, and figured out that Google would have no way
to
identify me unless I was logged in.

Hmm... I'm getting this error and I *am* logged in. (My google id is listed
at the
top of the page.) Every field has an answer, and as far as I can tell they are
all in
an acceptable format. Any suggestions?

FireFox 2 on OS X.

I had this problem and this thread helped. I had previously navigated to the
form
then logged in and navigated back. It showed my user details but the form would
not
submit.

I'd done this on both FFox and Opera.

To get around this I logged out of google, cleared my browser history, logged
in and
then navigated to the form and filled it out. I copied/pasted from a form in a
different browser so I didn't lose any field inputs. Things then worked for me.
