one of the most common maintenance tasks PYK performs on individual DDR installs is dumping the local cache. this is primarily to close out stuck "pending" git status notifications. by adding the ability for users to dump the cache, it could speed up users workflow by not having to wait for PYK to remote into the box, log into the vm and dump the cache.
