As a system I want to migrate all of the old location tags into the new location tags identified by TDF. #997

Matt is working with Rebecca to determine what new location tags will be used. He will create a Google Sheets doc that describes the necessary migration paths, as we did with the topic tags.

Still waiting on new location tags from TDF.

Been mulling this over and wondering if we might keep it very simple so that the drop down menu doesn't get out of control. The story tagging area looks like this: screen shot 2015-03-12 at 11 31 40 pm

In the left column, we've done the job of identifying topics. I'm wondering if for places, we go simpler as well with just listing the 7 counties of Metro Denver and then Denver broken up into the five region model that DPS uses:

"Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver - Far Northeast, Denver - Northeast, Denver Northwest, Denver Southeast, Denver Southwest, Douglas, and Jefferson." We'll also then add "Colorado - Beyond Metro Denver" as an option for those that don't fit into Metro Denver, and "Beyond Colorado" to catch all out-of-state stories.

Under the highlighted "Search Keywords" on the right, we can add some text: "Type in your own search terms. We suggest using a portion of this space to further specify your neighborhood in Denver, or a city in the county where the story took place if you're in the Metro Denver region."

The map feature drills this down even further to an address. We can change the language here to "Mark on the map where exactly your story took place with a specific address, or cross streets."

Rebecca confirmed that this is the route to take. Please use this document for migrating location tags (really mostly adding new location tags as I think a full migration is too complex and too time consuming): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NLVh-YA7NuhA1jucivWdOSe_F0q57euJSTR1099sR5k/edit#gid=0

Let me know if this sheet works.

From team meeting on 3/17: Some questions about places vs. mapping … Matt’s thought is that the places should just be as simple as location tags and not necessarily mapped or automatically mapped. The Mapping section on the tag page in storybuilder (see above) allows storytellers to map their own stories, thus alleviating us from any coding or developing to automate place tags into mapping.

Are current location tags already "mapped" though?

We want to add "Original Aurora" to our location tags

Implementing the actual search feature is a priority, simultaneously, we need to create a solution for the location tags. Currently, the locations are also connected to comprehensive geo location and mapping data. Ideally, we need to hide, not delete this data (if at all possible), and not worry about the location tags connecting to a map or any map-like feature. The feature would mirror the topic tags, but with specificity around location, specific to the Denver Foundation work. This is related to Issue #1004 in P2
