Suggestion of basic parts required for space flight readiness #36

This issue should be implemented after the inventory/store items are finished.

I thought it might be a good idea to sketch out the basic parts needed to create a workable spaceship. This would be a "perfect" spaceship that would not have to worry about statuses or various damage types affecting it but just the basic stats.

The 4 basic parts needed for flight

  1. Power Generator (includes a small built-in capacitor stat and a power stat)
  2. Ship Hull/Frame (just an HP stat for now)
  3. Communication Array/Transponder (range stat)
  4. Cockpit/Command Deck (the cockpit would not need a stat for now but a command deck should have a max crew capacity)

I will try attempting to create some of these parts/stats but if someone else is a bit quicker on the gun please feel free. Each of these 4 parts could have their own various stats and abilities, etc. but the important thing is to get a basic part of each and focus on the blueprint/building/cable-bus connecting next.

Some suggestions:

  1. spaceship controls (in lieu of cockpit/command deck proper)
  2. Propulsion! we definitely need engines
  3. Fuel lines & fuel storage
  4. life support systems

We also need to decide if we want an FTL universe, or not. I think we could do well in a non-ftl universe using stasis pods etc and hundred year voyages.... but that might be hard to pull off in a multi-player game

I think the ship hull and frame should omit HP. If we don't have guns yet, or real battle, then there's no need to put in a dummy stat now. We can just wait around until we get a chance to add a real damage modeling system
