This is a disambiguation page for the various status effects of
Mechanistan. They have yet to be classified by parts.
Currently, you can identify status effects by running the diagnostic
tool in your command prompt of the operator interface by typing ‘Diag’.
To check for specific fixes for each of these status effects check the
[[Repair]] page.
Critical Damage
This is an umbrella term that serves the same purpose as a master alarm.
It alerts the pilot to the fact that one or more areas of his mech have
sustained a status effects more aptly named ‘Critical Damage’.
Power Failure
A section of the mech is no longer powered. Without power, damage
reports and other information for the section disabled is no longer
available. This may be due to an electrical short. Based on the level of
auto-repair add-ons that you have it may be only temporary. If it is not
auto-repaired (due to low add-on level or too heavily damaged), you may
be required to reroute power personally. A power failure may be
repairable. See the [[Repair]] section on how to resolve this problem.
Electrical Short
A circuit or other eletronic part supplying power or important data has
been interrupted, destroyed, or is not responding. This can be for a
variety of reasons; (1) a power surge may have corrupted the circuit or
lines disabling them, (2) damage may have been sustained which has
destroyed or dislodged the circuit or lines, or (3) an EMP attack has
disabled the hardware or software responsible for this circuit or line
and it is not synching/registering with the CPU. \
Electrical shorts are the cause of many other status effects such as
brown outs and black outs. Fixing the electrical short usually results
in an immediate restoration of the blocked utilities (barring any other
problems with them of course). See the [[Repair]] section on how to
resolve this problem.
Power Surge
A power surge is an effect that notates that a power surge is taking
place or has a high chance of happening. If you are experiencing a power
surge it can be for multiple reasons; (1) the power source is
overloading the circuits and/or lines due to overclocking or damage
sustained to power source or(2) Some outside power source is inflicting
damage similar to a power surge, such as electrical damage. Depending on
where the power surge is emanating from, affects where electrical shorts
may take place as a result of the power surge. See the [[Repair]]
section on how to resolve this problem.
Internal Ammunition Discharge (Involuntary)
This effect will be displayed when an impact or attack has pentrated and
set off your ammo storage for a particular section. Depending on which
ammunition storage section (ammo locker) was hit affects how much
remaining ammo you have and for which weapon. Depending on chance and
the ammunition involved determines how badly damaged the section is
surrounding the ammo locker.\
A Voluntary Internal Ammunition Discharge option does exist. It is
usually preceded by a number of safety locks.
Coolant Leak
A drop in temperature denotes that a coolant pipe has broken in or near
an area. If that section is a joint, mobility may be affected. Either
way a drop in coolant pressure usually follows unless the coolant lines
to that section can be sealed off utilizing the [[ECSOS]]. If there is
no ECSOS or it can not be initiated for some other reason to stem the
loss of coolant, critical areas may overheat. Overheating may result in
damage or malfunction of critical equipment.
Environmental Damage
Depending on your environment there are a number of different types of
damage that will appear as ‘Environmental Damage’.
