@allthesignals here's the ticket for detecting hypertension NEW claims. Feel free to add additional details as needed!
~getting channel email to set uip new notifications~ thanks amy! already ahead of me!
another notification should be added here

todo: refactor notification code (class too long!)
Refactor ideas: move the mailer templates into mailers with appropriate rrd prefix.
@amylai-nava just so I'm clear: I assume this means when at least one disability meets these criteria?
We are notified in the #hypertension-claims-tracking Slack channel when a claim is submitted on VA.gov with disability classification code = 3460 (hypertension) or 3370 (high blood pressure) AND disability action type = new
@amylai-nava doing some naming, this criteria means "possibly PACT eligible" right?
def new_pact_related_disability?
@allthesignals yes, when at least one disability meets the criteria above.
Naming-wise, "possibly PACT Act eligible" would be more accurate if we have also checked the flash for service history and conditions endpoint for diagnoses, but I'll leave the naming up to you!
edit: thought of this while traveling yesterday - instead of "possibly PACT Act eligible", it's more like, "this claim is of a type that should be assessed for PACT Act eligibility"
@amylai-nava Can this requirement for the Slack notification:
-- Single or multi issue: xx
be changed to
-- Number of claimed issues: xx
@yoomlam yes 👍
This is merged. Let me know when to flip the switch on.
As a member of the Automated Benefits Delivery team, I want to know when a hypertension NEW claim is submitted on VA.gov (single or multi issue) so that we can assess eligibility of the claim for PACT Act presumptive service connection.
