• Research to understand how other apps handle this in order to influence design work / flow

Steps done in demo to get App Store Review to appear:

• Uninstalled app
• reinstalled app
• Opened app
• closed app
• opened app again
• Completed some view only features - vaccines, letters
• Created and submitted a secure message
• Prompt immediately popped up after message was submitted

tl;dr: I only found one example of an app recruiting user research participants within their apps (ethnio), but many apps have prompts or permanent placements for soliciting feedback (of note: Target's patten for enrolling users in Beta testing). Because feedback is also a way to get help from users (and ask for some kind of input), they are applicable for consideration with in-app recruiting as well.

I documented a variety of feedback solicitation approaches, rating them at:

• discoverability
• disruptiveness
• whether there's an alternate way to access the feedback mechanism (ex: app store)
