Project Status Overview

Project Objective:

Empower Veterans by informing them about the benefits of push notifications and providing an opportunity to opt-in. Additionally, ensure compliance with Android’s new push notification permission rules, effective March 2024

Acceptance Criteria:

• Update the onboarding process with a screen explaining the benefits of push notifications for Veterans, shown before requesting consent.
• Present the option to opt-in to push notifications to all new users on both iOS and Android.
• Present option to opt-in to push notifications to Android users upon upgrading to a version that requires opt-in consent

This initiative is related to new and current users of mobile app -- part of general onboarding experience and then later, continuous yes/no decision-making of push notifications. Let me know if you need additional context.
