Good to go after PR review, and logged into the app in staging just to highly-cautiously-confirm absolutely no changes to the veteran status stuff.

Essentially - the listed PR changes are still upstream of the mobile API's backend. So nothing is being changed about the data sent to the mobile app, from the mobile backend, until changes are implemented in our controller/serializer/endpoint, to quote the PR. This didn't require QA from our side, will pass along to the IIR team.
