FE: Featured stories and events should show on the appropriate Lovell system page

A story or event assigned to the parent (umbrella) system: Lovell federal health care and also set as featured does not show up as a featured story/event on the home page for either subsystem: Lovell - VA, or Lovell - TRICARE

For other VAMCs this is limited to 1 or 2? Boston is a good example where 2 stories are showing

Acceptance Criteria

• [x] I expect when a published story has the Featured checkbox selected, the following occurs:
  • [x] If it is set to be listed on "Lovell Federal health care: Stories", it shows on both Lovell VA and Lovell TRICARE systems pages
  • [x] If it is set to be listed on "Lovell Federal VA health care: Stories", it shows on the Lovell VA system page only
  • [x] If it is set to be listed on "Lovell Federal TRICARE health care: Stories", it shows on the Lovell TRICARE system page only
  • [x] I expect the maximum number of featured stories we will show is 2 (note: this is already implemented at a template level).
• [x] Update https://prod.cms.va.gov/help/vamc/how-do-i-feature-a-story-on-my-sites-homepage to add a Lovell footnote to explain the logic for featuring / umbrella / lower level
• [x] Update https://prod.cms.va.gov/help/vamc/creating-content-for-lovell-federal-health-care for logic re: umbrella updates

As a Lovell editor, I would like to feature a story on

• both Lovell VA and Lovell TRICARE systems pages
• Lovell VA system page only
• Lovell TRICARE system page only

That looks good @omahane - I just verified that featured stories placed directly on either subsystem do show up. So it looks like this ticket needs to get the items posted to the parent (umbrella) system working and to verify the order setting is honoured.

Per scrum: Not an urgent priority, not pulling into sprint. From Lovell office hours, not totally clear if this is a full state blocker, but Kamari to confirm.

Workaround: any story you want to Feature must be VA or TRICARE specific. Can't be Lovell umbrella. (Likely means not blocking.)

We'll revisit in planning with Dave.

• Ryan has started part of this work, so the
• What do we do with discrepancies, e.g. What happens when you have 1 set for both, VA set for 2, Tricare set for 3.
  • Does the umbrella term always win, or does the specific system win.
  • DaveC: we discussed prioritizing by date published. Questions for that path: which date? initial publish, revisions, etc.
• The bigger picture (#1318) needs worked out for the Featuring UI
  • The Order 1/2 option doesn't make sense for Lovell
  • Hard to intervene in that UI on behalf Lovell without opening the whole can of worms for any place where Featuring exists (VAMC events, Outreach events, Stories)
• Events single source of truth epic will be a forcing function for working out Featuring for all Events / Stories.

If we finish work to date:

• Every other VAMC, select Feature, Story will show up on VAMC homepage in Stories section.
• For Lovell, Stories page works. Homepage, there is no Featured story to show. (Works for Lovell lower level, not Lovell federal. Can't feature a dual published Story.)
• If we finish: a featured Story will show on Lovell homepage. Ordinal, and count, will not be fixed -- will match what happens on other VAMC homepages today.
• The umbrella always wins
• Limit to 2

Decision: Finish with the work to date listed.
