Establish CMS ResearchOps #12833

Background

There has been a plethora of research studies completed over the history of the VFS-CMS project. Most have been very initiative-specific or one-off for understanding a specific problem space, such as Vet Center Dashboards. While accumulating this information over the years, we have found ourselves with a wealth of knowledge that needs to be synthesized.

As we look to the future of integration of the CMS Team with the larger Platform, we should seek to understand what information we know from past research and solidify our editorial research processes and procedures. We also need to identify what gaps there are in our knowledge.

User Stories

As a CMS Team member, I need a vast understanding of all editors of the CMS so that I can create solutions that help them trust and use the CMS in a way that enhances Veteran-centered content.

As a team building on the Drupal CMS, I need to understand the processes and procedures for conducting editor-facing research and how to interact with the CMS Collaboration Cycle.

As the CMS Team research lead, I need a robust process in place for assisting other product teams building on the Drupal CMS.

We should likely touchbase with our Platform Governance Team on integration with their collab cycle touchpoints as a part of this work.
