Will discuss this topic with Office of Strategic Engagement and Office of Field Operations
@davidmpickett based on conversation with VBA Office of Strategic Engagement, we should assume Regional offices will rely on the benefit hotline as their primary phone number but we should provide a way for direct numbers to be included for those facilities which use them
@mmiddaugh That makes sense. The phone number field on VBA facilities is not editable by editors. So they would have to go through the yet to be establish process for reporting data inaccuracies.
One last thing to consider is whether we should empty out the existing instances of the National Benefits Hotline being listed as Main Phone for VBA ROs and SOs. I retitled the ticket and updated the body to reflect possible points of intervention.
User Story or Problem Statement
AS A Veteran I NEED to understand if I am calling a local facility or a national hotline SO THAT I get the information I need as quickly as possible.
54 of 58 Regional Offices and 31 of 104 satellite offices list the Benefit Hotline as their direct phone number. This means most of them will show the same phone number with two different labels.
Description or Additional Context
The Main Phone that shows up on the Front End of VBA ROs pages is powered by a Phone Number field in Drupal that VBA editors cannot control. This field is currently populated based on Sandy's Database.
