Background

User Story or Problem Statement

There has historically been a lot of confusion around cropping.

• Many editors want to know how to prepare images
• There seem to be way too many options (all cropping options are available on all field_media image fields, even if only one is relevant).
• Cropping doesn't work as editors expected
• Editors often disagree with the aspect ratios.

Affected users and stakeholders

• Editors of all products that have images

This may need to be revived for a CLP use case where the Hero banner panel is requested to only allow 2:1. @ethanteague you mentioned that it's possible to do this just for CLP but not sure if that's the route we want to go.

We are reviving this with a focus on Vet Center facility pages via epic #8475. Whatever the findings are for that epic can help us determine how best to proceed with other media uses.

@laflannery and @BlakeOrgan I think you were both curious about the crop situation. We worked through this a bit last year but didn't come to a final decision about what to do. Research is a possibility here, however, thinking through how editors deal with current state through proper education is important. I'll try to find the other ticket that references this (the KB yall were looking at)

@EWashb I definitely have a better understanding of cropping now after spending time really looking at it for the KB article. I feel like I can definitely see some quick wins (i.e. fixing the help text, getting this new KB published and fixing some others) that might really help the whole situation without redoing the entire thing
