Wind down coronavirus Keep Me Informed tool

With the VA's coronavirus pandemic response efforts winding down, the decision has been made decommission the VA.gov Keep Me Informed (KMI) tool. In its current state, the KMI tool allows users to: (1) sign up for vaccination updates; and (2) directly register for a vaccine if not a current VA patient. Neither of these use cases will be needed long term.

The following steps are proposed for wind down:

• [x] Remove link from vaccine landing page
• [x] Set up permanent redirect from existing paths to the vaccine landing page
• [ ] Investigate search engine re-indexing to remove from top organic search results
• [ ] Disable front end application
• [ ] Notify Eligibility & Enrollment System team (Josh F.)
• [ ] Remove front end code from vets-website
• [ ] Disentangle back end code from other back end applications (e.g., coronavirus research registry)
• [ ] Remove back end code from vets-api
• [ ] Remove any database tables
• [ ] Remove vets-json-schema code
• [ ] Remove / de-register any related feature toggles
• [ ] Remove / revise existing health checks on downstream services (e.g., VEText)
• [ ] Remove alerts and/or notifications from Slack and/or PagerDuty
• [ ] Update product documentation in va.gov-team repo
• [ ] Archive Slack channels

@batemapf Hi Patrick - Stephen Barrs had let me know in Slack back in early March that the work to remove the old Cerner data method would be blocked by this ticket. I think the work shipped last week from @mdewey to add the data call to the VA.gov header is a step in this direction. Wondering if you have a draft timeline for when you expect/ hope this work will be complete?
